the gecko finally got me
Fifteen minutes, people. It can save you 15% or more on car insurance.
Here's the thing. I've been watching a lot of baseball lately, as devoted readers know. The sheer number of car insurance commercials during baseball games has finally gotten to me. Why am I paying so much for car insurance, I finally found myself asking. Never mind the question of why so many car insurance commercials air during ball games. The Viagra commercials make sense in a way that the insurance ones don't necessarily.
Anyway, I saved more than $400 by switching to Geico. Perhaps I should be getting paid to say this. But shit, I think I'll buy myself an ice cream cone.

I was a Geico customer for more than 35 years--that was in the days when they only catered to the military and public service personnel in the top echelons. I saved more than $500 by switching to State Farm, because Geico penalizes people when they get old despite brand loyalty and an impeccable driving record. I learned the hard way that one needs to review and get competitive bids every two years regardless of who one deals with.
Nationwide pulled a similar stunt on me with homeowner's insurance and State Farm saved me 50% of my premium--and I live in hurricane ravaged Florida.
I have become a true postmodern senior citizen. I only look out for myself, and I use whoever and whatever I can for my own selfish advantage. It's sad, but that's the world that we have created for ourselves.
