Now don't go making a big deal about this, people, because I've got lots of issues with a lot of what surrounds this. Not with S., of course. But with weddings and marriage and expectations, oh my. I mean, really. Imagine Amy in a dress.
But the presents part--that's just fine.
And also, we bought a new fridge last night.

If you're good friends and you don't compete, but are happy helping each other be the best they want to be, then you'll be happy for ever and ever without end. Trust me. 36 years and going strong--not without bumps, hiccups, problems, anger, and a whole lot of other shit. But in the end, it's called commitment to stand by someone and help them, not subsume oneself in someone else.
