in-fucking-furiating

I watched North Country last night. Well, actually I watched the first hour on Wednesday night and kept it an extra day to finish it last night.

Hard to believe that the kinds of things the movie dramatizes actually happened in the late 80s in this country. Un-fucking-believable. I wanted to throw things at the television but all I had were the forty-three remotes on the coffee table and if I'd thrown those I would've had to get up and get them when it was time to pause.

Not that shit like that doesn't still happen EVERY SINGLE DAY in workplaces in this country. It does. It happens in classrooms and in board rooms and in living rooms every day. The home is a workplace, too, after all.

The other night I was talking to a friend and I said something about the way I wanted something done. "Damn, you're demanding," he said.

You go, girl! A student at an institution that shall remain nameless mentioned a faculty member who made inappropriate sexual remarks in the classroom. When said student complained to someone in the administration of Nameless College USA, said student received sympathy but no action. Prof X is tenured AND department chair.

Waiting for someone to retire is not an appropriate way to deal with such behavior.

Amy, Al here. I have the solution (as always)....Time Share, that's what you need in the most literal sense. You need to trade places with someone, anyone for just a week. I think the change of scenery would be excellent therapy. If you'd like, you could trade with me. I'll go out there and do my best at teaching and you come here and do your best explosives work. Okay, maybe not such a good idea.

I haven't seen the movie...in fact I'm not really sure what it's about. But I do understand infuckingfuriating. On the blue collar level I can give you an example...
A male superior to a certain female in a large certain home improvement store...As is everywhere throughout the store there ia also a certain big brother. Well, big brother told Big Daddy that these two were having a sexual relationship. i.e, slapping her rear as she walked past him, kissing... (mind you said male is married, said female is also married...not to each other and to top it off Mr. Big Daddy doesn't even approve of his associates soliciting the same establishment after work..after hours..on their own time. Well, the rules at work are pretty clear about relationships between levels. Not to happen under any circumstance for more than one reason. This male superior is very knowledgable of these rules. When approached, said female explains that she was unaware of any rule regarding personal relationships whithin store and store hours. (she had been employed there about 3 months at this time) When male was approached he explained that the female was not performing at standards of the particular job qualifications. (male has been employed with this company for 3 years at this time) She was escorted out of the building at that moment and informed her last paycheck will be received in the mail within 2 weeks.

hhhmph
